We are heading back to Rotherfield Cricket Club on Sunday 24 August for their annual charity cricket fundraiser in support of The Good Company People.
It is a friendly and relaxed afternoon with a match, good food and good company. Everyone is welcome to come along.
There will be a BBQ, a raffle and a chance to hear more about what we do, including how the local community can help us reach our £10,000 pledge target for the Big Give this Christmas (we know, we know it is only August!).

Why we love cricket
Cricket often brings back strong memories. It might be a match on the radio, a partner who played or time spent at the local ground.
At Wednesday Games Club, we have seen how powerful movement and sport can be for building confidence, friendship and fun. Whether it is walking rugby, table tennis or a game of boules in the garden, it is not about being good at sport. It is about feeling part of something.
Dr Raja Badramathu, consultant old age psychiatrist and Good Company supporter, says:
“The rhythm of a cricket match can be calming and familiar. For people living with dementia and their carers, watching or talking about cricket can bring memories and feelings to the surface, sometimes without needing to say very much.”
If you are a sports fan you might also want to consider Crowborough Sporting Memories Club, which meets monthly at Oasis Community Church. It is a friendly group where people come together to share stories about sport, from teams they followed to memories of playing as children. 📧 To find out more, contact emma.brooke@sussexcricket.co.uk or visit sussexcricket.co.uk/sporting-memories
Can your business get involved?
We are inviting local businesses and community groups in Rotherfield, Crowborough and nearby to support the event by:
Donating a raffle prize
Sponsoring the BBQ or match
Sharing the event in your shop, office or newsletter
Helping us raise pledges for the Big Give
