The Wednesday Games Club meets at Crowborough Rugby Club on the second Wednesday of every month from 10.30am to 12.30pm. It is a friendly morning of movement, games and conversation in a familiar and welcoming setting.
There is something for everyone. Each session includes activities such as table tennis, boules, kurling, quoits, Wii bowling and board games. When the weather allows, we head outside for sports like walking rugby, which has become a favourite for many of our members. People take part at their own pace. Some try a bit of everything. Others focus on one table or enjoy watching from the sidelines.
Bacon or egg rolls and a cuppa are available for £5, paid directly to the Rugby Club. There is no pressure to join every activity. You can take part as much or as little as you like.

What our members say:
My husband and I have had real quality time at Games Club. His vascular dementia is fairly advanced, and his memory and thinking are very limited now. Most days I spend all my energy looking after him and trying to find activities that keep him engaged.
I hoped Games Club would work for both of us, and it has. His old skills came back when he played pétanque and ping pong, and he even managed the Wii version of ten pin bowling. He was active, happy and it all felt normal again, which is a rare and precious thing now.
I can chat and relax with other partners who understand, and playing games together has been a reset in our relationship.
We have recommended Games Club to other couples. It is a kind and uplifting way of living with dementia and finding moments that still feel good.
