Help us to open our doors in March

We would love to have our Good Company HQ up and running by the end of March 2026.

To make that happen, we need to finish the space so it feels warm and welcoming rather than clinical. This includes ceiling tiles and lighting, flooring, heating, and essential electrics. These final pieces will help turn an empty building into a place where people feel comfortable coming in, sitting down, and spending time.

Alongside other funding we are seeking, we have set up an online crowdfunder so that local people and businesses can be part of bringing Crowborough HQ to life.

This is a community resource. If people are able to help in small ways, together we can make this space ready to open its doors.

Thank you rewards made by
The Tuesday Craft Club
Our thank you rewards are being created by members of our Tuesday Craft Club, a relaxed, creative group where people come together to make, chat, and share skills.

Rewards include handmade thank you cards, crafted items, and Comfort Clucks, all made with care by the group. For higher-level supporters, there is also the option of receiving a Good Company mug.

By choosing one of these rewards, you are supporting both the opening of Crowborough HQ and the creative activity that already happens within our community.

Welcome to

Our Good Company Headquarters (HQ)

We are opening a new home for Good Company in the heart of Crowborough.

After many months of planning, we have taken on a five year lease at the former Chapells Pharmacy next to Saxonbury House Medical Centre. This space will become Crowborough HQ, a place where older adults can simply pop in whenever they like.

It will be somewhere people can find information about living well, meet others, ask questions, or just sit down with a cup of tea and a chat.

The door will be open.

What we need to put in place

We have the building and a clear plan for how it will be used.

To open Good Company HQ, we now need to carry out the practical renovation work that will turn the space into a warm, welcoming, everyday place for the community.

This includes essential building work, fittings and furnishings, as well as the practical items needed to support volunteers, activities and drop in support.

We are looking for funding and gifts in kind to help make this possible

A safe space, ready to use

This includes the essential work needed to open the doors and use the building day to day, such as electrics and lighting, heating, ceiling tiles, flooring, an accessible toilet, and the installation of internal partitions.

Approximate cost: £12,900

Support for the team

Good Company HQ will be a working base for volunteers and the Concierge team. We still need practical items like desks, secure storage, shared equipment, and resources that allow people to work safely and confidentially together.

Approximate cost: £5,625

A welcoming drop in area

We are setting up a calm, comfortable public area where people can sit, talk things through, and feel at ease. This includes tables and chairs, armchairs, storage for information and activity materials, notice boards, and computers to support conversations and follow up.

Approximate cost: £7,770

A knowledge centre

The HQ will also allow us to record and share guidance shaped by lived experience. This includes basic video and audio equipment so that stories, podcasts, and practical resources can be created and shared more widely.

Approximate cost: £2,257

With Thanks To Our Community

Crowborough HQ is already taking shape thanks to the generosity of people and organisations in our community. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the project so far

We are very grateful to the

Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust

for their £5,000 grant

supporting Pop In sessions, small group activity, volunteer led support, accessibility and transport costs linked to

The Good Company Crowborough HQ.

This funding helps ensure people can access the space, take part in activities, and receive support once the doors open.

Thank you to our Local Heroes

What's been happening down at HQ?

Could you volunteer at Crowborough HQ?

Crowborough HQ will be a welcoming, everyday space, and volunteers will be at the heart of making that happen.

We are looking for people who enjoy being around others and are happy to offer a warm welcome, help people settle in, make a cup of tea, or simply spend time chatting. Some volunteers may also support our Concierge Team by helping people find information or think through next steps.

You do not need specialist knowledge or experience. What matters most is kindness, reliability, and a willingness to be there for others.

Volunteering at the HQ can be regular or occasional, depending on what suits you. We provide training, support, and the chance to be part of a friendly, thoughtful team.

If you are interested in volunteering at Crowborough HQ, we would love to hear from you.

Our next Volunteer Introduction is on 11th February.
