Snooker, Scrabble and Fish and Chips: A Wednesday Afternoon at Good Company

The Wednesday Snooker Club, which began in October 2025, has quickly become a much loved social event for our members. Held at the Crowborough Constitutional Club on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, the afternoon provides activities and companionship.

We are incredibly fortunate to have the support of our wonderful lead hosts, Tracy and Steve, whose kindness, patience and enthusiasm help make each session so special. Their dedication ensures everyone feels welcome and included.
With capacity for up to 25 members, the club offers something for everyone. There are two snooker tables and a dartboard, with volunteers and hosts joining in the games, creating a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. For those who prefer a quieter activity, there is a table for keen card players, as well as Scrabble and a variety of board games. The Scrabble table in particular seems to be gathering momentum, with more people joining the game each session.
One of the highlights of the afternoon is the fish and chips from Bennett’s which are always thoroughly enjoyed. Tea and coffee are available throughout, making the whole experience feel warm and homely.
The Wednesday Snooker Club is about far more than games. It is about friendship, shared moments and creating positive experiences in a supportive environment. It has become a valued part of our Good Company People calendar.
Many of the things we do at Good Company begin in this simple way. Someone suggests an idea, a few people try it, and before long something new starts to take shape. Our Table Tennis circle began exactly like that and is now growing into what may soon become the Friday Racquets Club. Will we also find ourselves with a Monday Scrabble Club? Watch this space.
The Crowborough Constitutional Club is a family friendly private members club right in the heart of Crowborough, offering a welcoming bar, social events, Sky Sports, darts, snooker and pool tables. We are very fortunate to have such supportive community venues working alongside Good Company.
