Water Priority Service

As we age, certain everyday tasks can become more challenging to manage. For older adults, having access to reliable utilities and support services is crucial for maintaining independence and well-being. Southern Water (our water supplier here in High Weald) offers a Priority Services scheme designed to provide extra assistance to those who need it most. 


Key Benefits 


Priority Assistance During Supply Interruptions

  • Older adults registered with the Priority Services scheme receive priority assistance during water supply interruptions. This means that in case of any planned maintenance or unexpected disruptions, Southern Water will keep you informed and provide alternative water supplies if necessary.


Alternative Communication Formats

  • For older adults who may have difficulty reading standard print, the company offers bills and other communications in large print, Braille, or audio format. 


Nominee Scheme

  • If managing bills and communications becomes overwhelming, older adults can nominate a trusted person to receive and manage their bills on their behalf. This nominee can handle all interactions with Southern Water, ensuring that the customer’s needs are met without added stress.


Password Protection

  • To enhance security and peace of mind, Southern Water can set up a password protection scheme. This means that any Southern Water representative visiting your home will use a pre-agreed password, ensuring that only legitimate employees gain access.


Dedicated Support Line

  • People on the Priority Services register have access to a dedicated support line - 0800 027 0800, open Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.


Home Visits

  • For those who find it difficult to leave their homes, Southern Water can arrange for home visits to discuss any issues or provide assistance with managing water services.

Online Registration


Fill out the Priority Services registration form here https://www.southernwater.co.uk/help-and-support/priority-service-register/. You’ll need to provide your name and address and payment reference number  (the 13-digit number in the top right corner of your bill)


Phone Registration


Call Southern Water’s dedicated Priority Services team on 0800 027 0800 who will help you through the registration process.


Postal Registration


If you prefer, you can request a registration form by post, fill it out, and mail it back to Southern Water.
