The Good Company People approach

Updated: Jan 9, 2022

The Good Company People is a management service that supports self-employed Good Company Hosts to provide weekly 5-hour sessions in their own homes for up to three guests who are experiencing social isolation, many of whom are living with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia.

Our approach is informed by the most recent evidence of what works to support the wellbeing of people living with MCI and dementia. Our guest assessment process helps us understand our guests' life history, personality, hobbies, mobility and if relevant, how their dementia is impacting them. A personalised support plan is developed and guests are matched with a suitable Good Company Host.

The Good Company sessions are designed to help guests maintain their physical strength, mobility and cognitive functioning by doing activities they love in good company and giving their informal carers a regular break.
