Role: Member Relationship Lead

📍 Based in Crowborough, working across East Sussex
💰 £27,000 to £28,000 depending on experience
🕐 Full time or 4-day week considered
📅 Apply by Monday 2 June 2025

Support starts with a conversation.

The Good Company People is a dementia-inclusive community organisation helping older adults and carers feel more confident, more connected and more in control of everyday life.

We are looking for a Member Relationship Lead. This role sits at the heart of our approach. You will get to know members, build trusted relationships and help connect them to support that fits their needs, interests and routines. You will work across our Good Company Clubs, peer groups and Concierge service to offer the right help at the right time.

This is not a medical or clinical role. It is about people. You will walk alongside older adults, including those living with dementia or supporting someone close to them, helping them stay active, informed and engaged in their community.

What you will do:

  • Build relationships with up to 150 members across Wadhurst, Crowborough and Forest Row

  • Get to know each person and help them navigate life changes with confidence

  • Offer practical support, emotional reassurance and clear signposting

  • Work closely with our volunteer team and Good Company Club hosts

  • Support our weekly Lunch Club, monthly Walking Club, Supper Club and Saturday Company Club

  • Contribute to the development of new Good Company Circles, our small peer groups for carers

Who we are looking for:

  • We are looking for someone who is:

  • A warm and empathetic communicator

  • Proactive and adaptable, with a positive and flexible mindset

  • Confident using digital tools (we use Google, Airtable and Asana)

  • Comfortable working in the community and on the move

  • Based locally with access to a vehicle and a full UK driving licence

  • Passionate about helping people feel more at home in their lives

How to apply
Please send your CV and a short cover letter to lucy@thegoodcompanypeople.org by Monday 2 June 2025. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities and are committed to inclusive recruitment.

Thinking about volunteering?
If you are inspired by this role but looking to contribute in a more flexible way, we are also recruiting new volunteers for our High Street Hub in Crowborough. Get in touch to learn more.

DRIVERS NEEDED

We are delighted that our Clubs and activities are growing in popularity, but this also means that we need more people who can donate a few hours of their time each week to bring a community member to the weekly clubs.

We will of course offer any training you need and lots of support as we all do this together. We hope you enjoy the experience as much as the person you will be driving.
