The Good Company People
Our People - Nick Warran-Smith, Finance Advisor

Why did you join Good Company?
To make my small contribution to a good cause and to help stop my own mental capacity from going downhill too quickly.
What is your professional background?
I have a BA and was a qualified Chartered Accountant before retiring. I was a Finance Director of several varied organisations.
What does Good Company mean to you?
It does a fantastic job for elderly people and for carers. It's a shame that public sector funds aren't sufficient to achieve the same.
What are your hobbies and interests?
My main interest now is travelling. I also play bridge. I like wine and have some knowledge of the subject.
How would your friends describe you?
Friends would say that I am rational, not gregarious and mostly fairly quiet. I often let my wife use part of my daily word allowance!
Can you share something interesting that not many people know about you?
I have dabbled in a few extreme sporting activities: pot-holing, rock climbing, parachute jumping and flying. I once built a kit car and used it as my main car for several years.
What's your favourite cake?
Fruit cake.
